Youth Summit 2022
April 11th, 13th, and 19th
Magdalena, Cottonwood, Sarracino
One of our projects this spring was our Youth Summit Kickoff Event! We were able to host a 1 day event at Magdalena Middle School, Cottonwood Charter School, and Sarracino Middle School where we reached 6th, 7th, and 8th graders!
We had a Keynote Speaker start things off with our students to discuss mental health, then we were able to go into breakout rooms with the kids where we discussed underage drinking with the Socorro County Prevention Coalition, make commercials on the negative effects of marijuana use, discuss violence and bullying with JPO, and were able to do some Yoga! Every student received a resource bag with information and goodies! We even had prizes and give aways thanks to World Tree Comics, the City of Socorro, Socorro Fire Department, Socorro Mental Health, and the Socorro Sheriff's office!
